Joy Division - The Dutch Recordings - 11/18 Jan 1980 - 320kb

Bootleg released in 2008.

The bootleg contains 12 tracks from Amsterdam, and a further
10 from Eindhoven.

Worth having? Well, if the concert at the Plan K is anything to go
by, each different issue of a bootleg has different sound...

The complete concerts can be found as follows:

Joy Division - London - 2-4 Apr 1980 - flac

Just-found 2-CD bootleg of the three-night Moonlight

The quality of the third night is still crap, but at least it is lossless
crap....

but not in lossless format...

Joy Division - No More Ceremonies - 192kb

Mildly inferior version of well-known concert, lots of audience partici-

Joy Division - Ajanta - 19 Apr 1980 - flac

Flac (lossless) version of the "good" recording. Heart and Soul, not really a personal favourite, just sounds sooooo good;)

Parts: one, two

Joy Division - Birmingham (Aud) - 2 May 1980 - 192kb

A music producer genius was busy recording this concert.
As was someone else in the audience....

One of the tracks played at the concert is not included on the CD version.
But on this recording it is in its rightful place.

"TRANS - MISSION!!!" - somebody yells out after 5 songs or so.
However the band don't follow with Transmission, but something much finer!

Joy Division - Amsterdam - 11 Jan 1980 - flac

"When I arrived at the Paradiso, it appeared that most of the regular visitors had decided to stay at home. So the JOY DIVISION played for a handful of people only, two long sets, together around 70 minutes of excellent music.
At that time only 1 album and 2 singles had been released, so they played a lot of new songs that went down well with the small audience.
The gig was (along with the PIL-gig in Bruxelles) the best I have ever seen. Fantastic bass playing by PETER HOOK and a spastic, strainied IAN CURTIS. For the occasion the Paradiso management had lowered the ceiling to make things more intimate. It was a good idea. Shame to all the people who stayed at home"

Concert that took place in a former church. 15 songs in total, a few of which are rather rare. Sound quite good.

Different version to the flac concert below. Part of the bootleg "A Journey that Leads to the Sun". Great quality, H&S is a real stomper!

Joy Division - Ajanta Derby - 19 Apr 1980 - flac

"The Ajanta concert was opened by XL5. After a long set, Joy Division went on to jam with Section 25, the jam being based on the Section 25 single FAC 18: Girls Don't Count, which had been produced by Ian Curtis and Rob Gretton. Ian's health was apparently not very good during this period and, as one observer at Derby recalled, "Ian Curtis was very distraught and kept sighing and kept having short blackouts""

Songs performed:
1. Dead Souls
2. Wilderness
3. Digital
4. Insight
5. Passover
6. Heart And Soul
7. Isolation
8. These Days
9. Transmission
10 She's Lost Control
11 Colony

Parts: one, two

Joy Division - Moonlight - 3 April 1980 - flac

"They played a lot better than the night before,
and Martin Townsend wrote:
"This is a difficult period for Joy Division; they
can ignore or encourage their popularity, and
disappear both ways.""

Joy Division - Moonlight Club - 2 April 1980 - 320kb

This was the first gig of 4 in 3 days!!
Section 25 played support, but Joy Division didn't
feel the inspiration and played a poor set.

Joy Division - Malvern - 5 April 1980 - flac

"I met the band backstage. They were all very polite and friendly, apart from Hooky, who was being an arse. The rest of the band were sat talking, along with members of the support act, Section 25 and a couple of people I didn't recognise. Ian was sat on his own. He seemed in good spirits, though looked tired and had a painful-looking shaving rash under his chin. He talked enthusiastically about the "new songs" and actually thanked me (but I don't know what for!) He spoke in a soft, high-pitched voice, which surprised me. Fond memories indeed!"

Concert finishes with glorious jam Girls Don't Count.

Parts: one, two, three, four

Joy Division - Birmingham - 2 May 1980 - Soundcheck - flac

Never officially released versions of:

Ceremony
Decades

Both songs with some hiss, the latter as grim as anything they ever played!

Recorded a few hours before the last concert.

The adventure is over......
