New Order - Manchester - 23 Apr 1981 - flac

Ooh.....this is an absolute diamond...

Half warm-up, half with audience, one classic song after another.

They even have a stab at "Digital" (how prophetic that Joy Division song was!)

The lossless concert, in spite of its size, is a must, this is as good as sound from 1981 gets!

Duncan the bootlegger - the ultimate Joy Division hero?!? Can't thank him enough....

  2. having listened to the version of ceremony on this - i love it. it sounds just like the joy division version. i've found with most live versions of ceremony by new order, is that the guitar is just too fast for my taste. this version is as perfect as i've ever come across, so thank you once again.

  4. FLAC sets seeded to DIME by duncanh on 2006-11-20, from his master cassette.

There's also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ppk1i_sn6Q taken from Live In Glasgow, which I believe was the second take of Death Rattle (Chosen Time)

  5. The first of the 3 Flac files also contains a file 'NO Brussels SC.flac'. What is that? The soundcheck for the first L'Ancienne gig?
    cheers, Vinz

  13. Brilliant post.

I can't get the text file opened. You know how it is: one just can not enjoy the music whole heartedly if one's paper work isn't in tip top order. Is there anything to be done to sort this out?

Thank you for the excellent site!

  14. Here it is:

New Order - Manchester Granada TV Studios - 23 Apr 81

    Recording session for TV

Part 1 is a little bitty because I was editing on the fly as there were large pauses between tracks I think it is longer because there are a couple of sound-check songs at the start. In retrospect I'd rather the between tracks stuff was still there.
Part 2 is a lot more like a gig with no long pauses and few if any edits.

There was some over dubbing done for the broadcast at a later date so these recordings might not sound like the versions on the broadcast

  15. Wow! That was fast. You took me by surprise.

I like NO, but the real reason why I come back is the outstanding service.

    Thanks!
