Good quality audience recording of another of the highly regarded US 1981 tour shows.

Do not convert to lossy format etc, do not sell. Do share, and do stick around to seed the files after you have downloaded them. There are an awful lot of New Order fans out there who bugger off as soon as they have grabbed their slice - have a bit of respect and share it with others!

  2. I was at this show. This was a highly anticipated show since Joy Division's 1980 Toronto show had been cancelled due to the death of Ian Curtis.

It was New Orders first of many visits to Toronto.

The band came out and said squat to the audience the whole evening. The show was beset with sound problems all night. The monitors were breaking down. Then the bands electronics kept breaking down repeatedly.

I don't thik Gillian looked up the whole show. She played the keyboards with two fingers only. Sumner kept coming over and adjusting her controls.

The band stormed off stage a few times due to the sound problems. At one point they said they weren't going to come back. They acted pissed off at the crowd as if it was the crowds fault there were so many sound problems.

The show seemed really short. Not a great night for the band. My memories were that a lot of the crowd were asking what is the band's problem? Why the negative attitude?

I know the person who taped the show. Tape sounds fine though.

Venue was actually called the Concert Hall, or as usually called then - the Masonic Temple.

Hard to believe it was 30 years ago.

    1. Was there too, and yeah the sound was awful. I remember Bernie taking his mic and dropping it on the floor and walking off. And that was it. I didn't pick up on the band being pissed at the audience, but we were sitting upstairs. Fantastic show!
